Tahini Date Shake x Coconut Magic = Tahini Date M A G I C

If you haven’t yet tried the wonder that is a tahini date shake, you are in for a treat (literally). Add in some cannabis-infused Coconut Magic to the mix? Beyond amazing.

Tahini has been getting called out as “the new kale!” everywhere from Epicurious to The New York Times, and with good reason. The nutrient dense sesame seed paste lends its creamy depth to both sweet and savory dishes alike. Tahini has been much loved throughout the Middle East, Israel, Greece, Turkey, the Balkans, and into eastern Europe. Never tried it? Now’s your chance! If you’re still wary, sub almond butter in this smoothie, and start with Danielle Oron’s Salted Chocolate Chip Tahini Cookies first. But, let me just say, you’ll be missing out.

You guys already know all of the amazing things Coconut Magic offers, but adding it to a raw nutritious smoothie is really upping the game. Here’s a little reminder of just how groovy coconut oil can be from The Chalkboard:

WHY YOU SHOULD TRY IT: Classified as a “functional food,” coconut oil provides many health benefits beyond its nutritional content. Coconut oil contains anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties, making it excellent for immune system stimulation. It can help our body’s defense against both viruses and bacteria, as well as yeast, fungus and Candida. Coconut oil also has the ability to affect hormones, and has also been shown to stimulate the thyroid while balancing blood sugar. As a result, it increases metabolism – meaning the simple act of increasing your dietary fat intake via coconut oil can help you to reach your weight goals.

COCONUT MAGIK-01

[serves 1]

  • 1 T Coconut Magic
  • 1 frozen banana (sliced)
  • 1/4 c. tahini (or more, to taste)
  • 1-2 dates, pitted
  • handful of spinach leaves
  • 1 c. coconut water (hemp milk is also brilliant here)
  • big pinch vanilla powder
  • regular pinch cinnamon

Throw this all in your blender with 2 ice cubes, blend till uniform, and enjoy! Top with more cinnamon or vanilla powder as desired.
